Re-Accreditation Self Studies at MSU

Assessment results should be reported using six topic areas.  The topics, and the key assessment questions they answer are listed below.

  1. Learning Goal:  What is the learning goal?
  2. Assessment Method:  How did you assess the goal?
  3. Assessment Result:  What did you find out?
  4. Action Taken:  How did you change as a result of the assessment?
  5. Action Results:  What happened as a result of the change?
  6. Future Steps:  How will you keep this assessment current?

The following pages show three different fictional examples of reporting assessment results using these six topics.  The first is an example of application of knowledge using a multiple choice test as the assessment method.  The second addresses a comparative analysis of writing samples and reflects a situation where no change was necessary as a result of the assessment.  The third example combines three methods of assessment used in a clinical or practicum setting and shows how Future Steps will implement and assess changes.
